Far longer than the tidy number you have probably read somewhere. When I hang a habit on something I already do, like drinking a glass while the kettle runs, it settles in about two weeks. When it needs its own slot in my day it takes months, and that is ordinary rather than a red flag.
Questions People Send Me
The doubts that turn up in my inbox most often, answered before you change a thing.
Starting Without The Drama
I would pick sleep, because every tired day I have ever had made my food choices worse and my cravings louder. Once my evenings steadied, the eating part asked far less of me than I expected.
You lose nothing at all. I restart things constantly, and that is the work rather than a break from it. The question I ask myself is whether the habit was the right size, because anything that folds in a busy week was too heavy to begin with.
How I Eat On Busy Days
I do not ban anything. Every list of forbidden foods I ever kept made me think about those foods far more. Adding vegetables, protein and water pushed the rest aside on its own, quietly.
For me it was a thin breakfast, a lunch eaten standing up, and hours in the same chair. A short walk and a lunch with something solid in it fixed that stretch better than another coffee ever has.
It helps, though not enough for me to feel guilty about a rough Tuesday night. Frozen vegetables, tinned beans and ready cooked grains all count in my kitchen. The plain dinner I actually cook beats the impressive one I only planned.
How This Site Works
Short notes from me on the six areas I cover, plus a nudge now and then when I publish something new. You pick your messaging preferences during signup, and you can change them whenever you like.
No, this is general wellness reading and I am not a clinician. Medication, a diagnosed condition, pregnancy or a symptom that will not shift all belong with a professional who can see your whole history.
Anything you type into my forms stays with me, and I use it only to write back or to send what you asked for. My Privacy Policy spells out the detail, and the Terms of Use handle everything else.
Still Wondering About Something
Send the question over and I will write back myself, with something you can use rather than a brochure.
